The Diversity Center, opened in 1997, is a gathering place for students who wish to explore their cultural heritage and identity. The center features a comfortable lounge, seminar rooms, and meetings rooms for campus organizations dedicated to increasing awareness of diversity-related issues. The Multicultural Affairs Committee of the Lawrence University Community Council works with the dean of students to support programs and annual campus events such as the Kwanzaa celebration, Identity Forum, Asian-American Month, Women's Week, and the Pride Conference focusing on gay, lesbian, and bisexual issues.
