Built in 1929 and fully renovated in 1986, Alexander Gymnasium is the home for 21 of Lawrence's 23 varsity sports. Facilities at the gymnasium include two regulation-size basketball courts with hardwood floors, three volleyball courts, three regulation racquetball/handball courts, a well-equipped wrestling room, a weight room, two batting cages, and four locker rooms. The offices of the athletic department are located in Alexander.
