Oral History Program

The Lawrence University Archives began an oral history program in 2006, to broaden and enrich our documentation of student, faculty and staff life at both Lawrence and Milwaukee-Downer College. Since that time, many oral history interviews have been conducted with faculty, staff, and alumni of Lawrence and Milwaukee-Downer. Many of the recordings of these interviews are available from our digital collections database, and transcripts may also be available. See the lists of interviews below for more details.

If you are living in the Appleton area and you are interested in recording an oral history interview as an alumna/alumnus or former faculty or staff member, please contact Erin Dix, University Archivist, at (920) 832-6753 or archives@lawrence.edu. Interviews are also conducted at Lawrence and Milwaukee-Downer reunions.
